Plant Risk Integrity Management
SGNCO offers tailor made risk-based
inspection for the risk analysis and risk ranking of any plant equipment.
This inspection is subjected to generate information regarding the types of
damage inflicting on the plant equipment. Risk based inspection is
cost-effective, safer results and reliable.
Using advanced computer software, our experts collect the data from
inspection and analyze it with known industry facts to determine the risk
rating. This provides the clients with an opportunity to focus on the
maintenance resources for those plant parts, which contain higher risks.
SGNCO risk-based inspection projects include:
- Specifying and prioritizing the risk ranking level of the
equipment plant
- Determination of the respective risk acceptance level for the
equipment
- Assessment of process operations, material integrity and
degradation rates
- Reviewing technical specifications and materials of construction
- Provide gap-analysis and turn-around priorities
- Determination of the remaining life span of any plant
- Specifying the necessary inspection and maintenance tasks

Positive Material Identification
SGNCO offers positive material
identification (PMI) testing, which determines the identity of the
materials. This testing is ideal when certainty about the composition of a
material is required. It is very much suitable high-quality materials like
stainless steel and alloy metals. With this method, several elements can be
identified viz. Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Fe, Cu, Zn, Ni, Se, Nb, Mo etc.
Properties such as heat-treatment or structure difference do not influence
the PMI measurement results. However, coatings and dirt on the material
surface may influence the identification results. The most common methods
for PMI are:
X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) Principle
In this method, the equipment has radioactive sources to sends out
radiation. The exposed material sends element specific radiation back. This
reflection provides different energy levels for different elements. This
way, alloy elements is identified. XRF method do not damage the material.
Spark Emission Spectrography
Spark emission spectrography is based on optical emission. The equipment
consists of a probe, which releases spark to vaporize the material to be
analyzed. The atoms and ions in this vapor produce a spectrum, which are
optically measured to determine the components of the material.

Pre-shipment inspection
SGNCO offers independent pre-shipment
detailed inspection for equipment or materials prior to their shipment.
Pre-shipment inspection is rendered to for exporters and importers to ensure
certainty that the goods are in conformation to the required specifications
and/or legal requirements.
Pre-shipment inspection becomes important when goods has to be exported to
countries with import certification schemes. In such countries, shipments
are not cleared by customs without pre-shipment inspection certificate.
Optimizing its vast network, SGNCO ensures pre-shipment inspection
certificate for the clients' shipment. We provide certification against a
Letter of Credit and authorized by a Chamber of Commerce. The scope in
pre-shipment inspection includes:
- Quality & Quantity
- Packing & Marking
- Supervision of Loading
