Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD)
After the detection of flaw, it becomes
important to measure the accurate discontinuity size. The Time of Flight
Diffraction (ToFD) detects slag inclusions and cracks with accurate size of
the defects i.e. ±0.5-1.0 mm. This technique is based on ultrasound,
which uses received diffraction signals in place of received reflected
signals.
This advanced technique provides a cost-effective, reliable and automated
inspection including Fitness for Purpose (FFP) inspection. ToFD is used for
the weld inspections on steel and other fine-grained materials. Besides
that, it is also used to inspect wall thickness range of 6 to 400 mm. The
main features of ToFD include:

Ultrasonic Testing
SGNCO provides ultrasonic inspection
services in order to detect leaks, cracks, flaws and corrosion in pipeline
girth welds. In addition, it is also used to measure the thickness of
materials as well. This inspection process is highly recommended for the
pipelines.
In this process, sound waves of high frequencies and short wavelength are
transmitted from a hand-held transducer through the test material in order
to detect flaws and corrosion. The waves get disturbed and partially
returned from the spots where corrosion or flaws exist. Capturing and
analyzing the returned sound waves provides useful information that are
displayed upon the screen connected to the ultrasonic equipment.
Skilled operators can easily identify the location as well as the
orientation of imperfection and the wall thickness of the material.
Vendor Surveillance
SGNCO provides vendor inspection services
to manufacturer and buyers through its qualified engineers and inspectors,
which includes stage inspections, visual examinations, witness testing or
final inspection. Vendor inspection services are designed to check the
quality of the consignments as per the purchase specifications, contractual
documents and applicable standards.
Right from defects and damage inspection, the consignment are sampled and
tested in the laboratory for specific performance characteristics. Our
involvement depends upon the inspection and test plan, equipment application
as well as the clients' requirements. SGNCO has vast international network
